I genuinely can’t see it, any examples of this from your perspective would be interesting. Unless it’s hefty hyperbole in which case ignore me lol, it’s always hard to tell an individuals flair for exaggeration.
Releasing video footage of asylum seekers being deported, invoking Enoch Powell in Starmer's 'Island of strangers' speech (which also called a period of higher immigration a "squalid chapter"), generally appeasing Reform's message at every turn (including those light blue Reform-mimicking ads bragging about increased migration removals & raids)
Surely they are only deporting those that are not legal to stay? That’s enforcing the law, not bashing. The speech, yeah I can see that, but even a lefty can surely see this is a bit of showboating trying to get votes? Labour are absolutely pro immigrants and minorities. Ricky jones is still walking free for instance.
But as a tactic that showboating makes no sense, all the evidence suggests that when given the choice between Reform and a Labour party that's seen as Reform-lite, people will vote for the real thing. Also, the louder they are on immigration, the more pressure there is on them to significantly bring numbers down, which will be really difficult. They'd be better off quietly trying to bring those numbers down while offering a coherent alternative vision for the country focused on materially improving people's lives, and explaining that actually immigration isn't the root of all the problems in this country
They're right, you wouldn't see it in Solihull, nor Sandwell, Dudley, Wolves, Walsall either. Because it is Birmingham's bin workers on strike (who I fully support by the way).
It is exactly the same in the more salubrious Brummie districts like Harborne, Edgbaston, the Royal Borough, so anyone who promotes a myth of racial discrimination is lying, badly informed/educated or... may be pushing that narrative for their own future benefit.
Those numbers are fairly compelling until you consider the vast number of millionaires there are in this country - the number of millionaires who left the UK in 2024 represented just 0.3% of the UK’s 3.06m millionaires. Personally I say good riddance to those who aren't up for contributing taxes to help improve public services and living standards in this country, but either way it's a massively exaggerated concern, and most of them aren't leaving. You say labour are “bashing minorities”

"Green investments," more cash for the underclass and an annual incentive for the productive to move their wealth and themselves out of the country?
Interesting read, but maybe you should look around and see if anyone else has made hay with this kind of thing?
Wealth exodus is massively exaggerated. Give this a read - https://taxjustice.net/press/millionaire-exodus-did-not-occur-study-reveals/

Not trying to push any narrative, just documenting the tone of the conversations I had
